10 Ways To Tell If Your Dating a Gold Digger
1. She asks you to buy her something or borrow money early on in the relationship.Unless you are fine with the idea of paying for your sex and the company of this woman, this is a red flag.
2. She wears a long weave down her back, cakes on the make-up and doesn't have a job. This is probably controversial for a lot of people, but we need to throw the political correctness in the trash if we are talking about saving you money, embarrassment and extended headaches. Trust me; if she has a long fake weave down her back, sans the job, you should be "extra suspicious" of her intentions. If you must, make sure you put these types under several stress tests to determine if they're genuine or not.
3. She never offers to pay and only says thank you occasionally ... as if she's entitled to your spending.A man should pay for the first date and a thank you is necessary. In terms of indentifying diggers, a thank you after a small dinner means more than her going down on you when you get her back to the crib. If after several dates she has never offered to pay for anything, you should be suspicious.
4. She only wants to go to expensive restaurants. After impressing her on the first or second date, take her to a few inexpensive places like Red Lobster and see how she reacts. If she reacts unappreciative or complains, she is either a digger, or may be too high maintenance. Don't be a punk or weak for the panties and call the digger back. If you do, you may as well hire a dime quality call girl which will save you some money and more than a few migraine headaches in the long run.
5. She has dated multiple professional athletes.Food for thought: Why has she dated guys on four different national football and basketball teams? Do these brothas have the most character and best personalities? What ball players are always sure to have is money. Guess what? So do you. Diggers and ball players have a long history together.
6. You catch her online reading the lipstick alley message board. This community is known to have an abundance of life-long diggers who share war stories and battle strategies. If you go forward and this girl turns out to be a digger, you are likely to be put on blast by the vicious and sneaky "sisters" who are part of this digger community.
7. She wants intimate details about how much you make.If she is a dime and you are eager to soak up her panties, you may just want to play along, sex her, and then not call the digger back. She played a gold digging poker game with the wrong guy and lost.
8. She doesn't demand you wear a condom or "says" she will go on birth control early in the relationship.Diddy reportedly had to pay more than $4.5 million in child support for his youngest son Christian. He has had three more kids since then. You get the picture. A hard core digger will see kids as a lifelong financial insurance policy. Even a condom may not save you as there are digger "baby strategies" that can compromise the standard condom.
9. Physically speaking, you two are completely mismatched. You have to be objective here. If you look like Craig Mack or weigh 400 pounds and the girl you're dating looks like Nia Long in the Boyz N' The Hood days with the little catholic school skirt, it may not be your personality, game, or funny jokes doing the work here. You have to be honest with yourself in determining how good your game really is. Your game is likely not on the level as "RP" or Bishop Don Juan on American Pimp. It's ok to go after dimes but be careful if things look "stretched" from your usual dating experiences.
10. She only lets you hit when you buy her something. If the only time you get some is after an expensive date or if she only hooks you up with brains after she gets an expensive gift, you probably have a digger on your hands. She is attaching sex to money and this is part of gold diggings 101.
Do you agree ladies???

Power Moves: Swizz Beatz Gets 'Black' w/Hennessy
We are aware that hip hop stars like to party and pop bottles. But more and more are taking popping bottles to a whole new level through major endorsement deals.
The latest to succumb to the alcoholic beverage industry is producer/rap artist, Swizz Beatz. Swizz has teamed up with Hennessy to launch a new line of cognac called Hennessy Black.
"Beatz is a long-time fan of the brand and approached us looking for ways we could work together. Since this product is all about having fun in the club, he suggested collaborating on a track that would be a hot dance song in the clubs," Andy Glaser, senior VP of Hennessy Business, tells Billboard.Check out the Swizz Beatz video for "When I Step Into The Club" below:
Hennessy Black, the company's first major launch since 1961, will be available in 10 markets throughout the U.S. including Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, New York City, Ohio, Washington DC and Massachusetts.
The drink will come to market with a variety of mixed drink recipes, including: Hennessy Black ice (with lemon juice and sugar); Hennessy Black Bull (coffee Liqueur and cola with ice); Hennessy Black Spice (ginger, syrup and lemon juice); and Hennessy Black Royale (champagne, lemon juice and syrup).

Jadakiss Takes Marketing Back to the Basics
In the words of the man himself, Kahackkk! :-)
And that's exactly what approximately 210,000 Jadakiss fans said as they purchased copies of his latest album, The Last Kiss. Despite the economy and music industry woes, Jadakiss defied the impossible after returning from a 5 year hiatus. In the first week, The Last Kiss sold an estimated 130,000 with hardly any publicity backing it.
So what was the key to his success? Well according to the marketing-inspired magazine, Advertising Age, Jada's strategy was merely a mixture of grassroots marketing and cyber savviness. He connected heavily with his core fan base via club performances, being on the road, speaking with fans through blogs and hip hop sites, and sporadically releasing music videos on Youtube.
“I ain't know what to expect now with the way the game is,” 'Kiss said in an interview with XXL earlier this month. “But I know I got a core fanbase. I don't think Def Jam expected that, so now we gotta get on the same page. I will say that's a great number for the climate and the way the music industry is right now and that's without a big hit at radio...I got longevity, that's why I got legs...It's always good when you can say I told you so. It's always good when you get the last laugh. But I'm just happy to be embraced after all these years, 'cause Hip Hop fans' ears change hourly. I'ma be here for a while.”Posted by Pretty Boy Beats and Bels

Foul on the Play: Orlando's Dwight Howard Suspended
About the incident Howard says, "I'm very disappointed but I have to respect the NBA's decision I didn't intend to hurt anyone. I have complete faith in my teammates that they will come out and get the job done tomorrow night."
Ironically, Orlando will also be missing their starting guard, Courtney Lee, in Game 6 due to an injury sustained by an unintentional elbow from Howard later in the game. Orlando will definitely have to step their game up when they take the court tomorrow night without two of their key players.
Dwight, you better watch them bows!

Ex-Manager Busted for $10 million Drug Ring
The former manager of Virginia-based rap group, the Clipse, was recently busted for his lead role in a $10 million drug ring.
According to MTV, Mr. Anthony "Geezy" Gonzalez will face indictment on 82 counts for drug trafficking. The Virginian-Pilot reports that Gonzalez is part of a ring that distributed tons of marijuana and 100 or more pounds of cocaine since 2003. The drugs were smuggled throughout Virginia, six other states, and South America.
Gonzalez, 34, reportedly turned himself into police in Miami on Tuesday (April 28), and is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate there on Wednesday afternoon. He will be returned to Hampton Roads, Virginia, to face the indictment.
Gonzalez's current relationship with the group was unclear at press time, but the Virginian-Pilot states that he managed the group through at least 2006.
Besides working with the Clipse, Gonzalez is reportedly the owner of the Encore Lounge nightclub in Norfolk, Virginia. That establishment closed earlier this year after more than 100 incidents of violence, shootings, drug dealing and disorderly conduct, according to the report.
The Clipse nor any of their representatives have yet to comment.

UPDATE: Traditional IRA vs Roth IRA - What's the Difference?
Last week I sent out a message asking my Facebook friends for financial topics for the STACKS Mag blog. I figure this will be a good way to find out exactly what people want to read about. So a close friend of mine from high school sent in a question. He wanted to know what was the difference between an IRA versus a Roth IRA. Hopefully the information I'm about to let my friend in on helps everyone decide what's the best investing strategy for them.
To break it down, here's how each one differ:
Traditional IRA
- depending on your income level, the contributions you make through your job paycheck are tax deductible
- by the age of 59 1/2, withdraws from your account can be made; and are mandatory by 70 1/2.
- taxes are paid on earnings when withdrawn from the IRA
- funds can be used to purchase a variety of investments (stocks, bonds, certificates of deposits, etc.)
- available to everyone; no income restrictions
- all funds withdrawn (including principal contributions) before 59 1/2 are subject to a 10% penalty (subject to exception).
Roth IRA Profile
- paycheck or deposit contributions are not tax deductible
- no mandatory distribution age
- all earnings and principal are 100% tax free if rules and regulations are followed
- funds can be used to purchase a variety of investments (stocks, bonds, certificates of deposits, etc.)
- available only to single-filers making up to $95,000 or married couples making a combined maximum of $150,000 annually.
- principal contributions can be withdrawn any time without penalty (subject to some minimal conditions)
On the flipside, if you put the same $2,000 in a Roth IRA, you would not receive the income tax deduction. If you needed the money in the account, you could withdraw the principal at any time (although you will pay penalties if you withdraw any of the earnings your money has made). When you reached retirement age, you would be able to withdraw all of the money 100% tax free. The Roth IRA makes more sense in most situations. but unfortunately, not everyone qualifies for a Roth. A person filing their taxes as single can not make over $95,000. Married couples are better off, with a maximum income of $150,000 yearly.
To open an IRA account, you can visit your local bank or use an investment broker. If you're already set up with a retirement savings plan with your job, you may want to contact an advisor at the investment company your job uses.
Also as with most things, there are limitations as to how much you can contribute to your IRA in a years time. Since 2008, the maximum amount has been:
YEAR | AGE 49 & BELOW | AGE 50 & ABOVE |
2008 | $5,000 | $6,000 |
2009 | $5,000 | $6,000 |
2010 | Indexed to Inflation | Indexed to Inflation |
How much do you need to open an IRA? Well, it differs from bank to bank. So check with several institutions to find out how much you'll need in order to open up an IRA.
Thanks Aki for the questions. Hope this helps!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update: In 2009, the annual income needed to qualify for a Roth IRA is $166,000 for married couples.
Thanks to our reader, Mr. JB, for catching that!

'Tweets' and 'Blogs' by Corporations Is Risky Says SEC
eBay for instance, launched an online blog in 2008, then hired blogger Richard Brewer-Hay began "tweeting" about technology conference, eBay's quarterly earnings and other various topics. But because of the growing number of twitterers, eBay's lawyers required Mr. Brewer-Hay to include regulatory disclaimers with certain posts.
eBay's experience reflects the issue corporations face when using social media platforms.
Eighty-one Fortune 500 companies sponsor public blogs, including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Chevron Corp. and General Motors Corp., according to the Society for New Communications Research. Of those blogs, 23 link to corporate Twitter accounts. This may be a great way to communicate, but corporations be wary.On Thursday, a Johnson & Johnson executive reported for the first time on the health-care giant's annual meeting via Twitter, which allows users to post "tweets" of as many as 140 characters from devices with Internet access.
(Source)Corporate lawyers say companies should devise a social-media policy before adopting blogs or Twitter. "All of the traditional ways that a company can get in trouble for making public statements" apply to the Web, says Lisa Wood, of Foley Hoag LLP.
She urges companies to include the standard disclaimers they use in other communications, as Mr. Brewer-Hay now does. Ms. Wood says companies shouldn't disclose financial information on Twitter that isn't available elsewhere, and should make clear that opinions expressed by others in company-sponsored forums -- like comments on blogs -- don't represent management's views.
Scott Storch learns from "Poor Judgement Decisions"
Super-producer Scott Storch, whose financial issues and speculated drug abuse have been the talk of the music industry, revealed to MTV that he's been in hiatus - on a road to recovery.
After the recent headlines of his arrest for grand theft auto, Storch told MTV that for the last three years he'd been coasting through life. Spending excessively on lavish trips, houses, cars, cocaine, women, and non-stop partying. Once a $70 million dollar man who charged $100,000 per beat, his music production work afforded him that lifestyle. But the lifestyle soon caught up with him.
From his recent arrest for unpaid child support to unpaid property taxes [Storch's $10 million Home Up for Sale], Storch let MTV know that these things occured due to "poor judgement decisions."
Today, he's in recovery, and taking everything back to "square one," he told MTV.
"I'm taking it back to square one," Storch told the network, while sitting in a Miami studio.
"I found myself slipping a little bit," he said. "I got involved in doing drugs. I had to get myself into recovery. Being in the life that I was living -- very fast-moving, option to do anything you want, go anywhere you wanna go -- it definitely takes its toll on you, and you lose your concept of reality. I had to get it under control. I had to take it back to the beginning and back to the Hit Factory, where I made a lot of my hits."
Today, Storch is in his final stages of rehabilitation. He lives in a three-quarter home and is supervised by a live-in counselor. He is allowed to go work in the studio until his mandatory curfew time.
"I haven't won the war. It's not like something you can just fix and it's just gone," admits the platinum producer. "Addiction is a disease, and I have to constantly battle it. I feel so much better and have more clarity, especially in the studio. It's cool. It's been a really productive period. ... With the help of my publisher TVT, I've had the chance to woodshed and come up with a whole new vibe. I'm very happy right now."
