News: Andre 3000 Gives Kid Cudi Cold Shoulder, "He Declined My Request For A Collab"

Written by Cyrus Langhorne

Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi recently spoke on what fans could expect from his forthcoming debut album Man on the Moon: The Guardian and admitted to being turned down for features by rappers including Andre 3000.

Writing via his blog, Cudi confirmed his album's limited feature list and a change he has decided to make as a result.

"I only have three features for my album which is my big homie Snoop [Dogg,] Kanye [West,] and Common," he wrote unmodified. "The other two artists I asked so far to be on my album: Lily Allen and Andre 3000, have declined my request for a collab. It made me realize though, do I really wanna go in on features? Sure I like these artists but this first album needs to be about what I can do...Ultimately, this does change the theme of the album now so the subtitle will not be called 'The Guardians'...I got a couple ideas for the new subtitle." (Kid Cudi Blog)

Scheduled to drop this August, Cudi was reportedly recording tracks with a star-studded line-up of producers.

Cudi currently has been in the studio with Travis Barker, Ryan Leslie, will.i.am, Swizz Beatz and Just Blaze in a bid to finish his debut album. Cudi's project will likely feature production from labelhead boss Kanye West. The record, which will include hit single "Day 'N' Nite", is said to be put forward for purchase across America on August 25. (Ace Showbiz)

He officially signed to Universal Motown last month, joining forces with labelmates Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.

"Kid Cudi is at the vanguard of a game-changing new generation of artists," Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone said in a statement. "He crosses musical boundaries with an appeal that goes beyond genre, format, race, language, and culture. Cudi lives easily in the hip-hop, indie rock, pop, and R&B worlds...He is a breath of fresh air - a dynamic and important new voice, not only in the next phase of hip-hop, but as a groundbreaking trendsetter who represents the future. I am thrilled to welcome Kid Cudi into the Universal Motown family." (Statement)

He is currently billed to perform alongside Weezy in London this summer.

Adding a second performance to his touring plans after his first July 6th show reportedly sold-out for London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo venue, Wayne is now slated to perform the following day, July 7th, at the popular location with Kid Cudi billed for the first showcase. (Ticketmaster)

The Preeminence of Love

Author: Dr. Creflo A.Dollar

Summary:

Nothing is more important in the life of a Christian than developing in the love of God. It is the only means by which faith works and the only way to be assured that you have passed from death to life. Without love, you block the answers to your prayers and the manifestation of God's promises in your life.

God's love is preeminent. It's the superior source of power.

The word eminence means "standing above other things."

Preeminence means "undoubted superiority."

God is love; therefore, love is superior to any other force in the universe.

Everything must give an account to the superior force of love.

God's love must be developed in your life.

God has commanded you to love others (John 13:34).

Everything is connected to the preeminent force of love.

Until love is cultivated, nothing else in your life will operate at its fullest potential.

You can't say that you love the Father while refusing to love others.

The love you have for others not only shows the love you have for God, it also determines whether or not you have come out of darkness and into light.

Satan will cause trouble in your relationships in order to disrupt your love walk.

Love bears, believes, hopes and endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:7).

Love bears all things by covering closely with silence.

Love never causes or perpetuates a scandal.

Love is quick to believe the best about a person.

Love never remembers past unkindnesses; it believes in others.

Natural, human love remembers old sins and reveals scars so that everybody can see how bad things were.

God, Who is Love, never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8).

You will always be a winner when you choose to go the way of love.

You are transformed into God's likeness when you walk in love.

The best way to exemplify God is to love others.

When you fail to develop in the love of God, you will be a carnal, unhappy, childish and immature Christian.

Developing in faith, in the anointing and in the principles of God's Word is a good thing to do, but not without the love of God as your motivator.

Your knowledge is not complete until you get a firm grasp of the superior force of love (1 Corinthians 13:9-10).

Your faith, joy, peace, healing, harvest and prosperity will be incomplete.

Perfect love propels you to experience the fullness of God's promises.

Perfected love casts out all fear.

You put away childish things when you grow up (1 Corinthians 13:11).

In the Scriptures, childish things are synonymous with immature things, which are synonymous with carnal or fleshy things.

You are a child when you do not exemplify the characteristics of love.

You must flee youthful lust (2 Timothy 2:22). Youthful lust refers to "childish ways."

You cannot continue to think, speak and act the same way you did before you became born again by:

Refusing to grow.

Fornicating.

Using profanity when someone makes you angry.

Murmuring and complaining.

Robbing God of the tithe.

A child is nourished by selfishness.

Sin, fear and unbelief are based in selfishness.

Grow up out of selfishness and into the love of God by putting away childish things.

If you don't strive to grow in love, you have purposed to remain selfish.

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness and lasciviousness are the works of a child, or the flesh (Galatians 5:19).

Disobedience is translated as "unbelief."

Hearing a message on walking in the love of God and failing to do so is an issue of unbelief and disobedience.

Your obedience is proof of your belief.

Those who do not believe will go to hell (Revelations 21:8).

Religion takes the Scriptures out of context in an attempt to explain why the Word of God isn't working.

Religion twists scriptures into wrong doctrine so you can feel better about the Word not working in your life.

A Christian who has heard the Word on holiness then falls into sin is comforted by religion that says, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

This scripture is talking about righteousness, not sin.

When a loved one dies, especially a child, religion says, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" (Job 1:21).

God does not give and then take away. It is the thief, or the devil, who steals, kills and destroys (John 10:10).

When you are in Christ Jesus, nothing counts more than faith, which works by love (Galatians 5:6)

Everything in the Kingdom of God operates by faith.

Faith without love will not produce the desired results.

To develop your love walk, practice on someone you find hard to love.

Labels Not Happy With Performance Of MySpace Music

Posted on May 6, 2009, words by Tim Boswell

Logo - MyspaceDespite a well-publicized partnership to leverage their extensive user base with official music from the four major record labels, MySpace Music isn't living up to its hype.

According to a report by CNET.com, record label backers aren't happy with the way MySpace Music has performed, financially, with their 8-month-old service.

Although the social networking giant has driven huge traffic to their music service, it isn't translating into dollars for the long declining music industry.

CNET says that at a MySpace Music board meeting in April, MySpace's CEO Courtney Holt got all the feedback he needed or wanted from music label representatives.

"Several key players were unhappy" with how MySpace Music was performing, a source with knowledge of the talks told the site. Some board members want MySpace Music, the joint venture formed by the four largest recording companies and News Corp., to make changes such as boost sales conversions and do more to integrate the service with the regular MySpace site.

While the meeting was designed to provide "open dialogue" and "constructive feedback" from the board to the service's managers, the discussions were described as "tense."

Right now, this meeting is strictly insider info. Neither MySpace, nor their record labels partners were available for comment at press time.

The MySpace Music venture is the largest attempt so far to blend social networking with music. The site, for quite some time, has been a place for unknown musicians to showcase their music, and in some cases, garner record deals. Apple continues to dominate online music retail with iTunes, but MySpace Music is seen as a new opportunity to potentially entice the public into paying for songs.

They have the traffic, by MySpace is learning it isn't as easy as it sounds. Currently, the two main ways people are getting music are either through iTunes, or b illegal download.

Despite the report, a source told CNET that all the labels appear "very confident" in Holt and MySpace, and "nobody is panicking."

CIARA'S NEW ALBUM A MAJOR FLOP … EXPECTED TO SELL LESS THAN 70,000 UNITS … MAY SELL FEWER THAN CHRISETTE MICHELLE!!!

May 07, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com just got some bad news. Apparently Ciara’s new CD Fantasy Ride is an ENORMOUS flop. According to our industry snitches, the album is only expected to sell about 70,000-75,000 copies.

To make matters worse, MediaTakeOut.com’s industry snitch told us that Def Jam artist Chrisette Michelle is likely to sell about 75,000 copies of her album Epiphany which is getting VERY little label promotion.

Ciara … girl … it might be time for you to pop out a few little 50 Cent’s and hang it up …

PRINCIPLES OF ACHIEVING RECOGNITION AT WORK

1. Don't treat the job like it's your only hope of success in the world. If you treat a job like you're dependent on it and like it's your only chance of success, your bosses will notice and may interpret your earnestness as desperation. If they think you have no other options, they really have no incentive to pay you more money or to give you a bonus. If they think the job you have now is the best you can do, they'll likely take you for granted. You should be generally aware of other job opportunities at all times. I don't mean you need to be aware of specific jobs, but you should have a general idea of what else is available out there.

If you find yourself in a position where there are no other attractive options out there based on your current skills and experience, your #1 priority should be to enhance your skills and/or experience to change that. This may mean taking college classes at night. It might mean volunteering for special projects at work so that you can get experience with a new system or new skill. To access the JobSearchInfo Education and Skills center, visit this web address:
http://www.jobsearchinfo.com/degrees.htm

The other benefit to constantly working to improve your skills and your overall marketability is that your employer may suddenly perceive you as more valuable. People tend to find others who are aggressive about going after their career goals attractive and more capable than people who seem to be content with their current station in life.

2. Aim to work on projects that are very important to the success of the company/organization. If you're working on projects that don't really matter to the big brass, you won't get noticed. You might not always have a choice. But if you find yourself in a meeting and projects are being given out, and you could at that point recommend yourself for a project that would have more of an immediate impact on the company's bottom line or other success factor, that project would be preferable. The big brass at your company are more interested in getting to know people who are working on critical projects than people who are working in areas that are not on their radar screen.

3. Look for ways to get recognized by important people. For example, volunteering to give a presentation or working on a special project. If there are no special projects available, consider suggesting one yourself. Ideally you want this to be a project that would involve making a presentation or getting yourself other exposure that higher-ups will notice. It could also be spearheading a company-wide or department-wide initiative to improve quality, sales, etc. Or sharing a technique you learned at a seminar or class that others could benefit from.

4. Determine metrics for measuring your effectiveness. Aim to exceed expectations. Most likely, you will need to talk to your boss to determine what these metrics should be. Just the fact that you initiate a conversation with your boss about this will make you come across as a high-performing and valuable employee. If metrics are established ahead of time, there will be an objective way to measure your performance. You may also be able to get your boss to agree to set your bonus and/or raise based on how well the metrics are achieved.

5. Always keep your options open. One of the most important principles is you never want to get into a position where you're dependent on your job. If you have other options, you will be more confident at work and that confidence will shine through in your interactions with other people. In the scenario J.S. wrote about, his co-worker most likely has other options - or else she wouldn't be coming in late every day. One way to keep your options open is by posting your resume on job sites confidentially. Using the ResumeDirector service mentioned at the beginning of this article will let you post your resume without revealing your name or contact information.

The Ten Commandments

1. Do not worship other gods.
2. Do not worship idols.
3. Do not misuse God's name.
4. Keep the Sabbath holy.
5. Honor your father & mother.
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not covet.

Text of all three versions of the Ten Commandments:

There are three versions of the Ten Commandments in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). They are at Exodus 20:2-17, Exodus 34:12-26, and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.

Exodus 20 version:

This is the most commonly used set of Commandments. In the King James' Version. Conservative Jews and Christians generally believe that the text was written by God on stone tablets and given to Moses during the Exodus, circa 1450 BCE. Liberals typically follow the Documentary Hypothesis, and attribute the writing to an anonymous author generally referred to as "E" who lived sometime between 922 and 722 BCE. More details.

The text reads:
2
I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Exodus 34 version:

Religious conservatives generally accept the Bible as inerrant and believe that Yahweh dictated this version to Moses who wrote it down in brush and ink circa 1450 BCE. Liberals generally accept that this version was written by an anonymous author generally referred to as "J" sometime between 848 and 722 BCE.

The text reads:
12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.
19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.
20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.
21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.
23 Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.
25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.
26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

Deuteronomy 5 version

Religious conservatives generally regard this version as having been written on tablets by God as in the Exodus 20 version circa 1450 BCE. Religious liberals generally regard this as having been written by an anonymous author called "D" circa 622 BCE during the time of the exile to Babylon..

The text reads:
6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
19 Neither shalt thou steal.
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Grouping the Exodus 20 commandments:

"Literally read, the Decalogue includes 19 different commands and prohibitions." 1 If the text is further divided into component parts, there are a total of 25 instructions. Christians and Jews believe that there are precisely ten commandments. This is based on the biblical passages: Exodus 34:28, Deuteronomy 4:13 and Deuteronomy 10:4 which confirm that there are ten. They have grouped them differently in order to add up to 10: 2

Tradition 1st Commandment 2nd Commandment 9th Commandment 10th Commandment

Ancient Judaism, most Protestants & Eastern Orthodox Exodus 20:3 Exodus 20:4-6 Exodus 20:16 Exodus 20:17

Current Judaism Exodus 20:2 Exodus 20:3-6 Exodus 20:16 Exodus 20:17

Roman Catholics, some Lutherans Exodus 20:3-6 Exodus 20:7 Coveting of neighbor's wife in Exodus 20:17 Rest of Exodus 20:17

The Protestant/Eastern Orthodox order comes from the 1st century Jewish practice; they regard Exodus 20:2 as a preamble. Historians Philo and Josephus from that era were familiar with this grouping. The Roman Catholic sequence was established by St. Augustine. He based it on the Septuagint, a Greek version of the Hebrew Scriptures that many scholars believe was translated from circa 250 BCE.

Lack of agreement among various divisions with Christianity and Judaism makes it very difficult to reach a consensus about how the Ten should be printed for display in public locations. Usually, the preferences of Jews, Roman Catholics and some Lutherans is overruled, and the Protestant format is chosen.

The Bible makes

"frequent reference to "two" tablets...(Exodus 31:18; 32:15; 34:1, 4, 29; Deuteronomy 4:13; 5:22; 9:10, 11, 15, 17; 10:1, 3; 1 Kings 8:9; 2 Chronicles 5:10). According to rabbinic tradition, the purpose for having two tablets was to divide the Ten Commandments under two rubrics. The first tablet, we are told, contained the so-called religious commandments, describing obligations owed to God. The second tablet contained ethical or moral commandments, describing obligations we owe to one another as creatures of God and as fellow human beings." 3

An alternative interpretation is that the full Ten Commandments was replicated on two duplicate tablets. This would follow the Hittite tradition of making two copies of each treaty: one for the Hittite king and the other for the vassals.

Geneva Study Bible

Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

18:9-15 Where is Sarah thy wife? was asked. Note the answer, In the tent. Just at hand, in her proper place, occupied in her household concerns. There is nothing got by gadding. Those are most likely to receive comfort from God and his promises, who are in their proper place, and in the way of their duty, Lu 2:8. We are slow of heart to believe, and need line upon line to the same purport. The blessings others have from common providence, believers have from the Divine promise, which makes them very sweet, and very sure. The spiritual seed of Abraham owe their life, and joy, and hope, and all, to the promise. Sarah thinks this too good news to be true; she laughed, and therefore cannot as yet find in her heart to believe it. Sarah laughed. We might not have thought there was a difference between Sarah's laughter and Abraham's, ch. 17:17; but He who searches the heart, saw that the one sprung from unbelief, and the other from faith. She denied that she had laughed. One sin commonly brings in another, and it is not likely we shall strictly keep to truth, when we question the Divine truth. But whom the Lord loves he will rebuke, convict, silence, and bring to repentance, and if they sin before him.

Genesis 17:21 "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year."

Genesis 18:10 He said, "I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son." And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him.

Jeremiah 32:17 'Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You,

Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?"

Zechariah 8:6 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'If it is too difficult in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, will it also be too difficult in My sight?' declares the LORD of hosts.

Matthew 19:26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Luke 1:37 "For nothing will be impossible with God."

Romans 4:21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. (NASB ©1995)
